Roadrunner Food Bank Warehouse Volunteering

Warehouse volunteers are trained to check, clean, label, sort, repack, and box food and non-food packaged items, which will then be made available to partner agencies for distribution throughout New Mexico.

  • Warehouse volunteers should be able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods of time

  • Volunteers should be in relatively good health to perform tasks that may be physically demanding, such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching

  • Roadrunner Food Bank is a fully functioning food warehouse, so volunteers may be working near large equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. 

15 spaces reserved for YPA. Please follow instructions so Roadrunner Food Bank can have an accurate headcount.

Please forward this email to all individuals in your group to complete their registration for this event. Each group member needs to complete the steps below.

To complete your registration:

  3. Select the day and time you want to volunteer and click ‘sign up’.

  4. If you already have a volunteer profile in our database, follow the prompts to sign in to complete your registration.

  5. If you do not have a volunteer profile in our database, follow the prompts to create a profile to complete your registration.

Please note:

  • Arrive early for your scheduled shift.

  • If you are unable to fulfill your commitment, please cancel or contact the volunteer programs team ahead of time.

  • Crocs, Slippers, Sandals, or flip-flops are not permitted. Volunteers must wear shoes with a closed toe and heel whenever working in the warehouse or distribution.(Please view our volunteer policy (attached to this email)). 

  • Shirts must cover the shoulder, shorts and skirts should be of modest length. Tank tops, tube or halter tops, midriffs, low riding pants, short shorts, or miniskirts may not be worn under any circumstance.

  • Ear buds, headphones, and mobile phones may not be used while working. You may take photos with your group before or after your volunteer shift.

  • Valuables, purses, bags, and backpacks should be left at home or secured in your vehicle.
