Join us for an evening of connection, conversation, and community at Amalie Coffee. This exclusive YPA experience offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to connect directly with University of New Mexico students in a more intentional, limited-capacity setting.

Designed to create meaningful interactions, this event gives YPA members the chance to share their career journeys, offer insight, and build relationships with students who are eager to learn from those already making an impact in Albuquerque. Our panel for the event is Andrew Bickham-DiGregorio; Manager of Communications & Operations at Leadership New Mexico, Bryan Baez Moreno; Controller at MCDADE WOODCOCK INC, Kalie Gonzales; Director of Development for the UNM Foundation, Miriam Hall Mcintosh; Development & Operations Director at Junior Achievement, & Claudia Kuchar; Corporate Relations Officer at United Way of North Central New Mexico.

YPA Connects: Co-Founder of Wiggly Butts, Albuquerque's newest nonprofit dog rescue, Natalie Mahoney (12 Dec 2026)

Join the Young Professionals of Albuquerque for an afternoon of professional development and a wiggly butt or two. Natalie Mahoney, Co-Founder & President of The Wiggly Butts Foundation, will be discussing leadership, community impact, and entrepreneurship in New Mexico.

This is a free event.

About Wiggly Butts:

Wiggly Butts Foundation launched in January 2026 and began community programming in April of that year. In just six months, with zero paid staff and zero prior nonprofit experience, Natalie led the organization to 94 dogs brought into the community, 63 adoptions, an 81% event adoption rate, and a 98% retention rate. The foundation has hosted 30+ events at local Albuquerque businesses, partnered with the NM Goatheads, launched a corporate wellness program, and was a finalist for Nonprofit of the Year through the Hispano Heritage Awards.

About Natalie:

Natalie Mahoney is the Co-Founder and President of Wiggly Butts Foundation, Albuquerque’s newest nonprofit dog rescue, and one of the city’s fastest growing community organizations of 2026.

Before founding Wiggly Butts, Natalie built a diverse professional foundation rooted in health, science, and entrepreneurship. She holds a degree in Public Health and Health Education, is a certified human and dog nutritionist, a Women's Health Specialist, spent three years owning and operating her own nutrition business, and completed a clinical research internship in South Africa coordinating HIV vaccine trials. Each chapter of her career sharpened a different skill: research methodology, business operations, community outreach, and client relationships, that she would eventually bring to bear on building a nonprofit from scratch.

Natalie’s story is one of intentional pivoting, data-driven decision making, and the courage to build something that didn’t exist yet because the need was too urgent to wait.
